“After so many classes with you I’ve always wanted to share this with you but forget by the end of class: when we first lie down on the floor, you sometimes mention how good it feels to be on the floor but I don’t find it comfortable at all. Lying on my back is tough with my tight back, hips and quads and definitely not comfortable. I think you’ll remember that when I first started I had to have my knees up for the first soma scan. I think I’ve made a lot of progress in that I can usually start on the floor with my legs straight now but it is still isn’t “comfortable”. But by the end of class, my body does totally melt into the floor and IT FEELS GOOD to be lying on my back! I used to think that my weight prevented me from melting into the floor so it was a real a-ha moment many months ago when I first started Somatics that I realized it was the tight muscles that prevented me from feeling good while lying on the floor, not necessarily the body fat.”
“Your session, as always, was perfect for me yesterday. I often get a “rib out” or what the PT tells me is that it gets stuck along the spine and doesn’t glide as it was designed to do. I’ve been suffering in pain with spasms over the weekend and was hesitant to do Monday’s session. I had faith, Somatics and your expertise would get me over the hump. I felt so much better after our session yesterday. I will do the main two series you had us do as best as I can today and see if I can make it hold....thankfully we meet again tomorrow.
